Sync and Video : Working with Field Recorders in Pro Tools : Designating Field Recorder Tracks

Designating Field Recorder Tracks
Working with field recorder data often requires Pro Tools to do additional administrative work to locate and keep track of production field recorder channels and metadata. This file handling can be system-intensive when working with large amounts of data.
Pro Tools lets you specially designate field recorder tracks after importing them, ensuring that Po Tools only does field-recorder-specific file operations on channels that actually contain field recorder data.
To designate a field recorder track:
1 Right-click on the name of the track you want to designate as a field recorder track.
*
To designate more than one track as a field recorder track, select the tracks and right-click the name of one of the selected tracks.
2 A menu will open.
3 Click Field Recorder Guide Track.
4 Repeat for each field recorder track in the session.
*
Each mono field recorder track must be designated to enable the special Pro Tools field recorder features for that track.
*
To remove the field recorder designation from a track that has been designated, Right-click its name and deselect the Field Recorder Guide Track option.
